Our team is divided into two groups working on two independent subjects.

The Plant Stress Response Group is investigating the role of protein degradation systems in plant response to environmental stresses with the main focus on nutrient deficiency stresses. We are interested in signaling and early stages of plant reaction to stress. Most of our work involves two plant species, Arabidopsis thaliana and Nicotiana tabacum.

The Vaccines and Therapeutics Group is involved in projects related to construction of the modern and novel vaccines against influenza for both veterinary and possibly clinical purposes. We focus on DNA vaccines and we work on optimization of the immunization cassettes, adjuvants and schedules. Careful analysis of immunological response to the tested vaccines is a very important part of our work. Additional activity of this group is related to molecular farming and concerns advantages of using plants as bioreactors for the production of valuable proteins and biotherapeutics.
